HORMONE THERAPY

BIO-IDENTICAL HORMONE REPLACEMENT

Bio-identical hormones have the same chemical structure as hormones that are made by the human body. The term “bio-identical” does not indicate the source of the hormone, but rather indicates that the chemical structure of the replacement hormone is identical to that of the hormone naturally found in the human body.

WOMEN

RECLAIM YOUR YOUTH

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) can effectively control symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes, insomnia, PMS, vaginal dryness, weight gain, and frequent urinary tract infections. In addition to treating menopausal symptoms, BHRT has been shown to be effective in decreasing the risk of Alzheimer’s Disease and colorectal cancer.
The three types of hormones typically prescribed for BHRT are estrogens, testosterone, and progesterone.

    ESTROGENS

    • May increase HDL “good” cholesterol and decrease LDL “bad” cholesterol
    • Helps to decrease blood pressure and reduce plaque formation on the arterial walls
    • Improves mood, energy levels, sleep patterns, memory and cognitive function

    TESTOSTERONE

    • Enhance libido
    • Enhance bone building (increase calcium retention)
    • Provide cardiovascular protection (lower cholesterol)
    • Improve energy level and mental alertness

    PROGESTERONE

    • May enhance the beneficial effect of estrogen on lipid and cholesterol profiles
    • Stimulates new bone growth
    • Conteracts “estrogen dominance” when a woman produces smaller amounts of progesterone relative to estrogen levels

    MEN

    IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE

Andropause (also known as the “male menopause”) is the gradual decline in testosterone levels in middle-aged men. These declining testosterone levels have numerous signs and symptoms, and may include among others the following:

    • Depression, anxiety
    • Erectile dysfunction
    • Fatigue
    • Reduced cognitive function, libido, muscle mass
    • Osteoporosis
    • Weakness

best form of testosterone for replacement therapy

The best way to replace hormones in your body is to replace the exact ones your body has always made. Testosterone USP is a natural form of testosterone, and the same one produced by the human body.

      natural testosterone replacement

On average, a man’s testosterone level begins to decline at a rate of 1-3% per year. It is estimated that 40% of men between the ages of 54 to 64 have levels below the lower limit of normal.

The indication for testosterone-replacement therapy (TRT) requires the presence of a low testosterone level, and signs and symptoms of hypogonadism. When hormones are replaced or restored back to physiological (normal) levels, men may experience a dramatic reversal of many of these changes.

Testosterone replacement, heart disease, prostate cancer, etc.

It is a proven fact that men who have low testosterone levels are more at risk of developing types of heart diseases. Numerous studies show low levels of testosterone are associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular disease.

Testosterone has never been proven to cause prostate cancer. In fact, men who have low testosterone levels have a higher risk of developing prostate cancer and a higher incidence of enlarged prostate.

      BIO-IDENTICAL HORMONE pellet therapy

was developed 80 years ago and is considered a safe and effective medical protocol for customized hormone replacement used worldwide.

      the procedure

typically takes 10-15 minutes. This will deliver consistent hormone levels over an extended period of time, typically three to six months.

      FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

      ABOUT PELLET THERAPY

      WHAT ARE PELLETS?

The most common pellets are made up of either estradiol or testosterone. The hormones, estradiol, or testosterone are pressed or fused into very small solid cylinders. These pellets are larger than a grain of rice and smaller than a ‘Tic Tac’

How do i know if i am a candidate for pellets?

Some of the symptoms you might experience. include excessive weight gain, low libido or sex drive, mood swings, insomnia or trouble sleeping, depression, and/or irritability. If you are experiencing anyy of these symptoms, you could be a candidate for BHRT pellet therapy

Why are pellets optimal for hormone replacement?

Pellets deliver consistent, healthy levels of hormones for 3-6 months, depending on the dosage. They avoid the fluctuations or ups and downs of hormone levels seen with every other method of delivery. It is the fluctuations in hormones that causes many of the unwanted side effects and symptoms of a patient’s experience. Pellets do not increase the risk of blood clots like conventional or synthetic hormone replacement therapy. In studies, when compared to conventional hormone replacement therapy, pellets have been shown to be superior for relief of menopausal symptoms, maintenance of bone density, restoration of sleep patterns, improved libido, sexual response, and performance. Even patients who have failed other types of hormone therapy have a very high success rate with pellets. In addition, there is no other method of hormone delivery that is as convenint for the patient as pellets

how and where do you insert pellets?

The insertion of pellet is a simple, relatively painless procedure done under local anesthesia. The pellets are usually inserted in the hip through a small incision which is taped closed. Experience of the health care professional counts; not only in placing the pellets but in determininig the correct dosage of hormones to be used.

What can i expect after pellet insertion?

After pellets are inserted, patients may notice that they have more energy, sleep better, and feel happier. Muscle mass and bone density will increase while fatty tissue decreases. Patients may notice increased strength, coordination, and physical performance. They may see an improvement in skin tone and hair texture. Concentration and memory may improve as will overall physical and sexual health.

Do the pellets need to be removed?

The pellest do not need to be removed. They complete dissolve on their own.
